South Park Music Tour

A brief account of my adventures at the South Park
Music Tour.
I attended the South Park Music Tour this past
weekend. I met a lot of great people, saw lots of
really good Indy artists, and learned new things as
well. During the days I attended a song camp put
together by Gilli Moon and Songsalive. I also stayed
up too late, of course.
On Friday we played songs and had them critiqued. I played "Don't Let Me Go" (formerly Every Ending is a New Beginning) The response was very favorable and encouraging. I noticed that one person was moved to tears. I did not expect that reaction, but I am moved by it. I heard a lot of good songs that didn't fare as well in the critiques. One of the reviewers was Larry Johnson, who wrote Tim McGraws hit "Don't Take The Girl".
On Saturday we broke into groups of three and had two hours to co-write a song together. Then we had to perform it in the evening at the Fairplay Hotel. Frank and Jesse and I came up with a song about oxygen and the woes of high altitude. The event is at 10,500 feet! It will never be a hit but we got lot's of laughs and had fun with it. Larry Johnson even performed his song "Don't Take The Girl" using my guitar. Cool.
